The Mysterious Birdman of Mound 72

Cahokia, a once bustling epicenter of civilization nestled across the river from what is now known as St. Louis, is often referred to as the archaeological counterpart of ancient Jerusalem, only manifested in a tapestry of earthen mounds rather than stone structures.      An illustrious city and sacred hub of the ancient Native American civilization, Cahokia was an American beacon of light during the European 'Dark Ages'. While unknown to the "civilized world" the city functioned as a vibrant hub of exchange; its trade routes stretching across the expanse of the continent. Its influence was palpable, with artifacts, pottery shards and intricate jewelry traced back to Cahokia found from the Atlantic to the Pacific. The echoes of its cultural impact reverberate still today, among contemporary native tribes, with its mythology and legends deeply interwoven into their spiritual practices.      The heart of this ancient city's allure and the greatest archaeolo...

Existential Dread: A Recovery Pamphlet

Astrofall, 2022 Written for an interpersonal physiology course in 2022. I love this work, it is one of my favorites ever.

Stickman Riot

Stickman Riot, 2022 About a year ago now I was trying to get my spouse to play a card game with me. We tried MTG but since I played several years ago, the game has become too cumbersome for new players to learn, or for returning players to find any fun, however we both enjoyed the core mechanics. With this in mind, we sought to create our own card game. We made about 300-400 cards before we ran out of steam. The game is still fun but making the game was more rewarding because it meant that I was engaged in deep thought with someone I love. While making the game the cards needed art to display, there are tons of these cards with pictures but this one is my favorite because it puts the "stickman" of bathroom fame, somewhere unexpected, a street riot.

Ethics and Future of AI Technologies

This was written in April 2023 for a communication course, as extra credit. It is about a 5 min read. In my lifetime, technology has progressed faster than at any other point in history. I remember when the internet was new and sounded angry when it got started, like an accordion that fell down the stairs. I remember a time before everyone had cell phones, and instead held their heads up to face the world around them. I remember my family’s first computer and how excited I was to use it in the mornings and on weekends. As the years have pressed on, as they are wanting to do, I have watched as more and more technology has come to dominate my life. My initial excitement has turned into a less than enthusiastic attitude when I am forced into using it. That said, I have never felt scared before. That changed when AI became a reality this year. In my mind, AI could only exist on a spaceship or on another planet, not here and not now. The ethical ramifications of this technology are curren...

Wave Sense Logo

In 2018 I came up with an idea that I thought might someday revolutionize the bed frame market. I created a logo for the system so that I might more easily sell the system concept. Wave Sense, 2018.

Font Test, Bauhaus

After watching a documentary on Bauhaus I attempted to create a font based on their principles and styles. The words are not determined or specific they are just what I had fun creating.  It should say 1 X U M J 4 G TZ 8 F if you cannot tell.

Nightlight

Nightlight, 2018 I first sketched this on my phone one rainy night while I was delivering Pizza's. Later I re-created a digital version with color. It is supposed to be a streetlight shining color on my windscreen. The moon is shown north of center next to the crack in the glass.
